Role Overview:

Brigit is looking for an experienced and accomplished Product Design Lead to join our team and help shape the future of our products. As the Product Design Lead reporting directly to our VP of Product, you will be responsible for setting the design and user experience direction across all products, including web and mobile applications.

This is a critical role working closely with product and engineering leadership to set and drive our product roadmap forward while mentoring and guiding a team of designers. This is a great opportunity for an experienced product designer looking to further their career in design leadership.

*This role will be hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite), based out of our NYC office in Flatiron.

What you'll be doing:

Partner with product and engineering leadership, shape the processes and structures by which Brigit's product is designed, built, and released and help create a product vision and roadmap

Serve as the primary voice on design systems, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability across all products

You'll spend 40% of your time on “product design lead responsibilities” including running design sprints, critiques, design ops, and retros

You'll spend 60% of your time as an individual contributor on one of our cross-functional product teams alongside a product manager, software engineers, and others

Establish and nurture a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation within the design team

Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and user needs, and translate them into effective design solutions

Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporate them into our design process.

Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform design decisions and improve the user experience

What you have:

  • Commitment to financial wellness for everyday Americans
  • Highly empathic, leads with compassion, and is able to influence without authority
  • A proven track record of being an individual contributor. You've designed products for users and you've worked with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to launch them.
  • 5+ years combined experience in product design focused roles
  • 2+ years of experience working on a consumer (B2C) focused product required
  • 1+ years of experience in a design lead role required. You've helped guide other designers and been responsible for design systems, guidelines, and best practices.
  • You are opinionated about product design direction and are relentless about improving the experience
  • Expertise with Figma and all aspects of the B2C product lifecycle required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $130,000 - $165,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
